Shaping the Future

I am currently a VP Business Consultant at Bank of America Merchant Services. I have responsibility for the commercial segment with expertise in Specialized Industries including, Healthcare, Non-profits, and Private Universities in the payment processing industry.

With over 15 years’ experience, I came in  into the payments industry, through the back door, by way of gift card expertise. I started my journey in Payments with the advent of the gift card program at Macy’s.

It was there where I developed expert knowledge in a niche fledgling industry. This led to my being President of the Incentive Gift Card Council and Vice President of the Incentive Marketing Association, where every major retailer and supplier was a member.

Through my extensive networking opportunities,  I became sought after by companies wanting to grow their gift card programs. I was recruited to work at Blackhawk Network, the premier gift card mall provider.

This network of high powered contacts is also responsible for creating the additional opportunity of being recruited to work for First Data, the largest payment processor and technology leader in the payments industry at the time.

In 2009, First Data and Bank of America created a joint venture called Bank of America Merchant Services.  I was one of 500 First Data Employees chosen to lead the new joint venture.

I have experienced success in every step of my journey. I have been recognized from my Macy’s “Star Award” for Top Achiever (for Revenue), to BAMS “Platinum Club” (for Over Quota Achievement), to BAMS “Eagle Award” (for Top Achievement) and I am currently number one in sales for my division for 2019.

My greatest strengths are drive, enthusiasm and leadership.  These qualities have always seemed innate in me.  It was a natural fit that I would be elected as head cheerleader of my squad and take First Place in the Northern California competition in High School, or be a training supervisor at StrawHat Pizza as a teen.

These qualities are still evident today in my  ability to “turn around” an unsatisfied customer and make them a loyal client.  As Andrea Morris, VP Government, Bank of America Merchant Services and my one-time Manager said,

“Nancy has proven herself as a real turnaround artist, turning a client with one foot out the door, into a client that now serves her up as the shining example of service”.

I have done this again and again creating wins with large complex clients by solving their problems, becoming their trusted advisor and helping my clients do payments better, by providing consistent feedback to help open new markets and integrate selling channels, in the most secure and cost effective way. And I always do it with a cheerful smile in my voice and on my face!

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from California State University East Bay in the San Francisco Bay Area.  I live in the East Bay with my 2 sons and cat.  In my free time I like to travel and attend professional sports events especially Oakland Athletics Baseball and Golden State Warriors Basketball.

I am a single mother of two extraordinary, and accomplished young men. I am a devoted family member and friend.

I am intelligent and love learning new things. I am a sports enthusiast. I am independent. I enjoy socializing.

My sons and I are loyal A’s fans and attend games regularly. I have traveled extensively and typically enjoy everywhere I have visited.
